The best things in life are free

The best things in life are free
Angel Hamilton
*Gods own country Nature wide, how lucky do we feel inside
It is not wealth fame or gain, that keeps us from going emotionally insane.
Tis lack of freedom and liberty, negative love, no serenity.
The best things in life are certainly free, but to share with another is important you see.
Companionship, love thats kind, to your faults they are blind
Unconditional love has no price tag.
Wounded fish caught on the snag, Really have.
Allowed to swim free, given another chance in the sea of life finds its own romance.
The shoal of fish swim inland, one poor fish anchors upon the sand.
Struggles with life and keeping afloat.
Where is that sailor and his boat?
Will he save will he catch, will he sell its eggs to hatch?
We are all fishes in gods own sea, are we caught or are we free.
Do we surface swim, or are we deep
Glimsing at clouds, or seabed we seek.
We have choices how we feel today, Even with life’s hand at play.
The best things are free in life you see,
No one can take your liberty.
That comes from deep within
A thought a feeling, loss or gain
Whatever deal we have been given,
Our choice to see hell or heaven.
Our vision belongs to us, people affect it,
a knock and a bruise, but survival can be of choice.
We were all given inner voice, some use it where they can
some knocked down by fellow man.
Why do we often destroy one another?
We do not have to be related, to be sisters or brother.
Allow us to be a ladder, help someone rise
The feel good factor will take you by suprise.
A smile is free, so is a kind hand shaken at that moment
when a heart is breaking.
A respected command, a hidden gesture a quick well done
the best things in life are free and a whole lot more fun.
Give of your self, a whale or a fish a dolphin of life
not a phirana dish.
You may need someone to save you one day
hope for calm waters, along life’s way
We were once the fish and the holy bread
that was shared by Jesus head by head.
We all landed on different shores.
Make the most of life and cry no more.
Hope lives inside your heart,
free as the birds, your flying does start.
Look down upon life’s ocean
clear or murky waters.
Like the phoenix, Rise Again
Doing what God has taught us…..
Use our vision, more than to see
Remember…..The best things in life are always free.*

Blue rose

I draw when I have nothing to do. I draw anything whatever comes out in my mind. Actually, I'm not sure if there's really a blue rose. Coz when my friend saw my drawing, she asks me if there's even a color blue rose. And then I said I dunno, but I think so there is. Maybe an artificial one. Haha.

Blue roses, often portrayed in literature and art as a symbol of love and prosperity to those who seek it, do not exist in nature as a result of genetic limitations being imposed upon natural variance. Traditionally, white roses have been dyed blue to produce a blue appearance. In 2004, researchers used genetic modification to create blue pigmented roses. A blue rose is traditionally a flower of the genus Rosa (family Rosaceae) that presents blue-to-violet pigmentation and also the Morganus Clarke sunflower seed disposition, instead of the more common red or white variety.

“I believe that most of us, students and artists alike, ought to concern ourselves less with what we think is the right way to draw and more with letting our feelings flow through our hand. In this way, we stretch our dynamic nature. Our larger goal should be to draw in a way that expresses our vision.”

Proud to be a Filipino :)

Using visual icons of "Filipino Nationalism" I need not explain, for I know that they are deeply embedded in the hearts and minds of all Filipinos. It is the opinion of the artist of this arts. But for me, the way that I see and appreciate it is what he only wants to express about of being proud as a Filipino and giving importance to the blessed gifts and freedom that we're having right now. And I am touch whenever I see paintings or drawings such as this.

"No one has a monopoly of the true God, nor is there a nation or religion that can claim, or at any rate prove, that it has been given the exclusive right to the Creator or sole knowledge of His Being."
- Dr. Jose Rizal (Annotations to Morga's Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas)

Lovely painting

To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act... A watercolor style with such pretty result. It is also better to use other medium but it depends to whoever will going to paint out.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water soluble vehicle. The traditional and most common support for watercolor paintings is paper; other supports include papyrus, bark papers, plastics, vellum or leatherfabric, wood, and canvas. In East Asia, watercolor painting with inks is referred to as brush painting or scroll painting. In ChineseKorean, andJapanese painting it has been the dominant medium, often in monochrome black or browns. India, Ethiopia and other countries also have long traditions. Fingerpainting with watercolor paints originated in China.

"Nature is not only all that is visible to the eye.. it also includes the inner pictures of the soul."
- Edvard Munch

"Drawing is not what one sees but what one can make others see"

One Direction are an English boy band formed in London in 2010, consisting of members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. They signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after being formed and placing third in the seventh series of British television music competition The X Factor. They subsequently signed in North America withColumbia Records.

A drawing of the boy band, One Direction. Why they're all so handsome? Haha. And even all the songs that they composed are so nice. From left to right: Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.

I love the way they are smiling at everyone who will check this out! There's so much detail in this drawing, the shading is just great!

When painting speaks out

Oil Paintings of Leonid Afremov

Leonid Afremov is a Belarus born, Israeli modern painter who creates unique landscapes, cityscapes and figures using a palette knife rather than a brush to paint. Here is what he himself says about his work and the techniques he uses:
“I tried different techniques during my career, but I especially fell in love with painting with oil and pallette-knife. Every artwork is the result of long painting process; every canvas is born during the creative search; every painting is full of my inner world. Each of my paintings brings different mood, colors and emotions. I love to express the beauty, harmony and spirit of this world in my paintings. My heart is completely open to art. Thus, I enjoy creating inspired and beautiful paintings from the bottom of my soul. Each of my artworks reflects my feelings, sensitivity, passion, and the music from my soul. True art is alive and inspired by humanity. I believe that art helps us to be free from aggression and depression.”
"Painting is a blind man's profession. He paints not what he sees, but what he feels, what he tells himself about what he has seen."
Pablo Picasso

Sitting on a bench

A man playing a guitar sitting alone on a bench. It seems that he's very sincere of whatever he wants to play a song. It's like there's someone behind of dedicating that song. And it looks that the person is very important to him. Well, that's how I only see and interpret this picture of drawing. :)

"Put your feelings into drawing."

Friendship

Sometimes we forget to tell the people that we love most how precious they are, but it's never too late.

Our Friendship

Marcia M. Griffith
As I think of our friendship, I begin to see
Mere words can't describe what you mean to me.
When this cold, hard world has me lonesome and blue
I look up to see my angel, my sweet angel, you.

You dry the tears that fall from my eyes.
You bring me sunshine to brighten my sky.
You rescue me when I'm scared and alone
And take my hand to lead me home.

No matter the miles that keep us apart
We're always together in each other's hearts
Sometimes we take for granted, I fear,
The ones who are so close and dear.

We get so caught up in life and things we must do
Sometimes we forget to stop and say I love you.
If ever you felt I forgot or didn't care
Let me stop right now, my true feelings I'll share.

You're the sun in my sky, the bed where I lie.
You're the home where I'm safe, the field where I play.
You're everything I am, everything I do.
So what I am saying is I LOVE YOU!

“You must forget all your theories, all your ideas before the subject. What part of these is really your own will be expressed in your expression of the emotion awakened in you by the subject.”

Painting music

I just saw this in youtube. It's nice to listen in some music while you're doing something like painting. It will not made you bored. But it depends to the person if he/she is comfortable with/without this. For my own perspective, it feels good that while you're painting there's a pleasant melody that you're listening to. Even though I'm not really a painter, but I try the best that I can do to express what I want to share through some form of arts. And the usual thing I always do is to draw whenever I have nothing to do.

“Without atmosphere a painting is nothing.”
― Rembrandt Harmenszoon Van Rijn

Fashion drawings

Most of us know fashion illustrations for their distinctive association with style and beauty. There is no doubt about that, however there is so much more to fashion illustrations that can inspire every designer, no matter what field you are in.

Most importantly study how fashion illustrators express themselves through their artwork. Inevitably some styles overlap but each illustrator can be distinguished by their own personal drawing style very much like their own handwriting.

The Sierra Madre

The Sierra Madre mountain range contains the largest remaining tract of old-growth tropical rainforest in the Philippines. The longest mountain range in the country (known as the “backbone” of the northern island of Luzon), the Sierra Madre contains 1.4 million hectares of forest, representing 40% of the country’s forest cover. The biological importance of the corridor is not only due to the remaining intact forest in the central part of the mountain range, but also to its high plant diversity. The Sierra Madre forests are also home to hundreds of wildlife species, many of which are unique to the Philippines, including the Philippine eagle and golden crowned flying fox.

The Sierra Madre mountain range is also one of the major drivers of the Philippine economy, as its watersheds provide services that support major infrastructure, including dams that irrigate thousands of hectares of farm lands in Central Luzon and the Cagayan Valley region (the “rice bowl” of the Philippines), and water utilities and power plants that supply Manila, the capital and industrial center of the Philippines.

“Every now and then one paints a picture that seems to have opened a door and serves as a stepping stone to other things.”
― Pablo Picasso

Oil painting

Jose B. David Oil Painting Philippines 1948 Rice Fields

This is a very nice oil painting on canvas by Filipino artist Jose B. David. This piece shows a Philippine landscape with men and women working in a rice field. This piece is signed in the lower left in oil "Jose B. David".

The smile is as pretty as the flowers :)

From the painting itself we could see its beauty, how much more is it in reality. This work of art was made by a Filipino. It pictures out a young girl picking flowers from a garden. From the painting alone we cannot tell her reason for picking those flowers but we can tell through her smile that a flower doesn't only serve as a decoration but it also may lighten up someone else's day. It is one of God's masterpieces.

I just saw this and it makes me realize that it's not always for ourselves the reason of happiness that we can have but also we can share it with others and through that way, there are two faces that you've brought on a smile... Yourself and the other one you've given the happiness.

“Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.”
― Pablo Picasso

Painting as an art

Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh

Painting is the practice of applying paintpigmentcolor or other medium to a surface(support base). The medium is commonly applied to the base with a brush but other objects can be used. In art, the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action. However, painting is also used outside of art as a common trade among craftsmen and builders. Paintings may have for their support such surfaces as wallspapercanvaswood, glasslacquerclayleafcopper or concrete, and may incorporate multiple other materials including sand, clay, paper, gold leaf as well as objects.

Painting is a mode of creative expression, and the forms are numerous. Drawing, composition or abstraction and other aesthetics may serve to manifest the expressive and conceptual intention of the practitioner. Paintings can be naturalistic and representational (as in a still life or landscape painting), photographic, abstract, be loaded with narrative content, symbolism, emotion or be political in nature.

Aesthetics is the study of art and beauty.

Recent contributions to thinking about painting has been offered by the painter and writer Julian Bell. In his book What is Painting?, Bell discusses the development, through history, of the notion that paintings can express feelings and ideas. In Mirror of The World Bell writes:
"A work of art seeks to hold your attention and keep it fixed: a history of art urges it onwards, bulldozing a highway through the homes of the imagination."

"Paint as you see and be accurate in your drawing: the whole secret of your art is there." - William Bouguereau

A drawing of mine. He is Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), the leading man of Isabela Swan (Kristen Stewart) from the movie, "Twilight". Even though I'm not that good in drawing but I try my best to make a better one because I do love to draw and draw and draw. I swear. Am I too trying hard? But this is one of my passion and interest. Drawing is one way of expressing what our minds wants to express out. :)

Columbine flower drawing

Columbine flower drawing done in denver colorado. Columbine is one of the most beautiful wildflowers. The plants are found growing in thin soil in limestone outcroppings, sometimes from a crack in the rocks. Columbine is the symbol of foolishness, based on the flower's resemblance to a jester's cap and bells. It was considered bad luck to give this flower to a woman. Fallen spurs of the columbine looked like the Virgin Mary's Shoes and received that name. They were said to have sprung up where Mary's feet touched the earth when she was on her way to visit Elizabeth. The spurred flowers resembled the tiny doves and came to represent the Holy Spirit. The flower also symbolized the innocence of Mary. The petals of the Columbine symbolize the seven gifts of the Spirit. The wild columbine has only five petals.

I just saw this and I was amaze of its simplicity plus the fact that I do love seeing lovely drawings like this.

"Drawing is the honesty of art. To draw does not mean simply to reproduce contours: drawing does not consist merely of line. Drawing is also expression, the inner form, the plane and modeling. See what remains after that. Drawing includes three and a half quarters of the content of painting."
Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres

Drawing as an art

Pencil portrait by Ingres

Drawing is a form of visual art that makes use of any number of drawing instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Common instruments include graphite pencilspen and inkinked brushes, wax color pencils, crayonscharcoalchalkpastels, various kinds of erasers, markers, styluses, and various metals (such as silverpoint). An artist who practices or works in drawing may be called a draftsman or draughtsman.

The word drawing is both (1) a noun and (2) the present-participle and gerund forms of the verbdraw. To draw is to produce a drawing. A quick, unrefined drawing may be called a sketch.

Drawing is generally concerned with the marking of lines and areas of tone onto paper. Traditional drawings were monochrome, or at least had little colour, while modern colored-pencil drawings may approach or cross a boundary between drawing and painting. In Western terminology, however, drawing is distinct from painting, even though similar media often are employed in both tasks. Dry media, normally associated with drawing, such as chalk, may be used in pastel paintings. Drawing may be done with a liquid medium, applied with brushes or pens. Similar supports likewise can serve both: painting generally involves the application of liquid paint onto prepared canvas or panels, but sometimes an underdrawing is drawn first on that same support. Drawing is often exploratory, with considerable emphasis on observation, problem-solving, and composition. Drawing is also regularly used in preparation for a painting, further obfuscating their distinction.

“Draw everywhere and all the time. An artist is a sketchbook with a person attached.”
Irwin Greenberg
